M1R McLaren Package, 1400HP Complete Engine Build & Transaxle Build
M1R Program
The M1R Program is a bespoke McLaren engine build and transaxle build developed exclusively for the McLaren platform. Engineered to elevate the factory powertrain into a fully integrated high-performance system, the M1R produces approximately 950HP and 700TQ on premium unleaded fuel. When paired with race calibration and race fuel, output increases to an exceptional 1,400HP and 890TQ.
As a complete engine build and transaxle build program, M1R goes beyond bolt-on upgrades, every internal component is engineered, machined, and assembled in-house to handle sustained high-horsepower output.
Build Process
Every M1R engine build begins with a comprehensive vehicle detail and multi-point inspection before the engine and transmission are carefully removed by M3P's highly trained technicians. The powertrain is then fully disassembled and meticulously inspected by our machine shop, where the engine build receives premium internal upgrades including CP-Carrillo billet steel connecting rods, forged aluminum CP-Carrillo pistons, CNC-machined cylinder heads, and a series of proprietary enhancements engineered to support extreme power levels while maintaining long-term reliability.
Once assembly is complete, the engine is reinstalled and paired with M3P's in-house engineered turbo system. The package features BorgWarner EFR turbochargers, upgraded wastegates, proprietary dual-pass air-to-water intercoolers with advanced internal surface features integrated into their 3D-printed AL6061 end tanks, and a fully 3D-printed Inconel exhaust system. Every component has been developed using advanced CAD modeling and high-resolution 3D scan data to maximize packaging efficiency, airflow, thermal management, and overall performance.
Extensive Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), Finite Element Analysis (FEA), and real-world validation testing have resulted in what we believe is one of the most advanced, efficient, and capable entry-level engine and transaxle build packages available today.
To support the increased performance, the transmission and driveline receive targeted upgrades, including Dodson DCT frictions, upgraded axles, and a billet LSD differential, along with ECU and TCU calibrations tailored to the selected fuel configuration.
Every M1R engine build and transaxle build completed by M3P is backed by a 2-year/24,000-mile limited powertrain warranty (whichever occurs first; restrictions apply).

Mega 3 Performance approaches an engine build as a complete engineered system—not simply a collection of upgraded parts. The M1R combines CP-Carrillo CP1350 connecting rods, forged pistons, DLC-treated components, torque-plate-honed Darton sleeves, precision machining, specialized coatings, and a fully blueprinted and balanced rotating assembly.
We also utilize advanced manufacturing technologies, including 3D-printed metals, where conventional manufacturing limits material choice or component geometry. Every material, tolerance, treatment, and process has a purpose: creating an engine capable of producing extreme power reliably, repeatedly, and predictably.
Our performance packages deliver significant power increases: M1R up to 1400HP, M2R up to 1550HP, and M3R up to 1700HP. Each package includes full engine and transaxle builds, custom 3D printed parts, Syvecs ECU with map switching, and comprehensive TCU/CCU tuning.
Every freshly built M1R engine undergoes a controlled dyno break-in and validation process before delivery. The dyno allows us to precisely manage engine speed, load, and operating conditions while progressively bedding components and monitoring critical engine parameters.
As the process continues, the vehicle is inspected, serviced, calibrated, and progressively introduced to higher loads before final performance validation. This means the customer's first several hundred street miles aren't being used to determine whether a newly built engine is operating correctly—we've already put the engine through a controlled break-in and validation process before it leaves our facility.
Absolutely! We provide a comprehensive 2-year/24,000-mile limited powertrain warranty with all our builds. Our confidence in the quality and reliability of our work allows us to offer warranty coverage that exceeds what any other McLaren tuning specialist provides.
We maintain inventory of our engine and M3P driveline parts, which enables us to complete McLaren builds within 3-4 months. This timeline could be subject to change based on volume increases, which would be clearly disclosed at the time of build slot reservation.
Extreme boost creates cylinder pressures and temperatures far beyond factory operating conditions, making bore strength, geometry, and stability increasingly important.
The M1R utilizes Darton cylinder sleeves that are precision torque-plate honed to simulate the stresses placed on the block when the cylinder heads are installed and properly torqued. This allows us to establish more accurate final bore geometry while providing a stronger, more stable environment for the piston and ring package—helping maintain ring seal, oil control, and durability under extreme cylinder pressure.
Our head and main studs are manufactured from a proprietary high-strength alloy, allowing us to maintain greater material cross-section rather than relying on a conventional undercut design.
At extreme boost levels, maintaining consistent clamping force is critical as cylinder pressure attempts to separate the cylinder head from the block and crankshaft loads act through the main structure. Our fastener material and geometry are engineered together to provide the clamping characteristics, fatigue resistance, and stability required under extreme cylinder pressure and repeated thermal cycling.
All of our calibrations are written and developed in-house and not outsourced. Our calibrator is owner/engineer Safa, who has been tuning for 15 years and is currently the only person in the world to unlock full control of the McLaren TCU. Safa's expertise extends to developing calibrations for the TCU and CPC controller for Mercedes platforms, plus ECU and TCU tuning for many of today's popular high performance European cars.
All our M3P transmission and driveline parts are designed, engineered, and manufactured in the USA. We have invested heavily in our driveline offering to ensure maximum reliability and performance for high-horsepower McLaren applications.
The McLaren TCU tuning solution is exclusively available for our client builds only. The TCU calibration is a critical component that works in conjunction with our ECU tuning to achieve the full power potential and driveability in our comprehensive powertrain programs.
Yes, we specialize in high-performance tuning for McLaren, Mercedes-AMG, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche, and other exotic vehicles. Our expertise covers ECU tuning, TCU optimization, and comprehensive powertrain upgrades for various supercar platforms.
