In-House Powertrain Calibration
The 2019 Senna continued limited deliveries of McLaren's ultimate track-focused road car. The M840TR 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 produces 789 HP / 800 PS / 588 kW and 590 lb-ft / 800 Nm through race-derived upgrades including optimized turbocharger aerodynamics and enhanced cooling capacity for sustained circuit use. The M840TR was specifically validated for the Senna's demanding operating environment, higher sustained g-loads and more frequent wide-open-throttle usage than any other road McLaren.
Stage 1 calibration adds up to 125 HP / 127 PS / 93 kW and 115 lb-ft / 156 Nm, bringing output to approximately 914 HP / 927 PS / 682 kW and 705 lb-ft / 956 Nm.
Stage 2 extracts up to 165 HP / 167 PS / 123 kW and 160 lb-ft / 217 Nm over stock, reaching approximately 954 HP / 967 PS / 711 kW and 750 lb-ft / 1017 Nm at the crankshaft.
All calibrations are developed for 91 octane and 93 octane fuel. Custom calibrations are available for 100 octane or other race fuels. ECU map switching and antilag are available as add-on options, antilag being particularly effective during the Senna's rapid gear changes on circuit.
