In-House Powertrain Calibration
The P1 is McLaren's ultimate expression of performance, a hybrid hypercar limited to 375 units worldwide. The M838TQ 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 produces 727 HP / 737 PS / 542 kW from the combustion engine alone; combined with the 176 HP / 178 PS / 131 kW electric motor, total system output reaches 903 HP / 916 PS / 673 kW and 664 lb-ft / 900 Nm. It set benchmarks that defined the hypercar class.
Our Stage 1 calibration targets the ICE exclusively, adding up to 90 HP / 91 PS / 67 kW and 100 lb-ft / 136 Nm to bring combined system output to approximately 993 HP / 1007 PS / 740 kW and 764 lb-ft / 1036 Nm, approaching the mythical 1,000 HP / 1,014 PS / 746 kW barrier.
All calibrations are developed for 91 octane and 93 octane fuel. Custom calibrations are available for 100 octane or other race fuels. ECU map switching preserves the original factory calibration. Antilag complements the electric motor's instant torque fill for seamless combined power delivery.
