In-House Powertrain Calibration
The 2022 McLaren GT pairs the M840TE 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 with a sophisticated dual-clutch transmission, hydraulic suspension, and a carbon fiber MonoCell II-T chassis, all tuned for grand touring comfort. With 612 HP and 465 ft-lbs in factory form, the GT is the most refined McLaren in the current lineup, and our calibration approach respects that character while significantly improving performance.
Our Stage 1 calibration adds +68 HP and +80 TQ, raising total output to 680 HP and 545 ft-lbs. Rather than making the GT feel more aggressive, our calibration enhances its existing character, more effortless power delivery, stronger mid-range response, and increased highway overtaking authority. The boost pressure and ignition timing optimizations are tailored for the GT's larger intercooler and more restrictive exhaust packaging compared to the 720S. Stage 2 provides 697 HP and 595 TQ, with the additional torque making long-distance drives feel even more effortless. All calibrations are developed in-house by Mega 3 Performance, optimized for 93 octane, with ECU map switching for stock/performance toggling.
